Resources
My name is Beth Walton, and I am the school counselor at Emma. I work with Megan Hipp, our school social worker. Together, we support your child’s physical and emotional needs at school.
As the school counselor, I work with students in their classrooms, in small groups, and individually. I teach life skills (including problem solving and empathy skills) to all of our students. I also help kids work through typical childhood issues like friendship problems or the loss of a favorite pet.
Megan helps our families make sure children’s physical needs are met. This includes helping connect families to community resources such as food, clothing, and housing assistance. She works hard to remove barriers that can get in the way of your children’s ability to focus on their schoolwork.
While we can’t promise that we’ll be able to provide resources to meet every need, having your information on hand will help us know who to contact as resources become available. As always, remember you can dial 2-1-1 for more information about local resources. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me (elizabeth.walton@bcsemail.org), send me a text message (828) 515-4271, or call me at the school (828) 232-4272. You can also email Megan (megan.hipp@bcsemail.org) or call/text her (828) 779-1240.
