Next Meeting April 24, 2019 at 3:00 PM

  1. Flags in the Cafeteria: The flags in the cafeteria will be taken down and cleaned. Mrs. Shipman will talk to Lee about the process for getting the flags cleaned. Mrs. Whitten motioned that we keep the flags in the cafeteria. Mrs. Johnson seconded the motion.

  2. Murals: The student participation murals are put on hold for now. The reason for this hold is we have other murals that need to be completed before Leadership Day on April 9. The student participation murals will resume after Leadership Day.

  3. Committees Assessment/Merging and Eliminating: SIT will look at merging and eliminating committees at our April 24th meeting.

  4. 5-year Growth Banner: Ms. Murphy shared a 5-year growth banner idea with the Leadership Environment team. The banner will emphasize that Emma is the only elementary school with 5 years of consecutive growth. Mrs. Shipman is going to check with the carpentry teacher at Erwin High School to see if his students could make us a wooden sign to go at the front entrance. Another option would be to add words to the banners that are hanging in the office. Strawbridge gives us a free banner every year. Mrs. Shipman is going to talk to Ken Faulkner, Strawbridge Representative, about putting the wording on the banner.

  5. Scheduling Committee: Scheduling Conversations are set for March 25, May 2, and June 6. These meetings are optional and will have an open format. During the meetings, we will look at plus, wishes, and deltas for Emma’s master schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

  6. MTSS: The MTSS team (Shipman, Walton, Deweese, Young, Lovejoy, and Harris) will meet on Wednesday, March 13 to go complete the Facilitated Assessment of MTSS. More about the MTSS process will be shared with the entire staff at a staff meeting. Date TBA

  7. Teacher and Assistant Allotments: Mr. Barbour and Mrs. Shipman will attend an administrator’s meeting about teacher and assistant allotments for the 2019-2020 school year.

  8. Title I Priority Plan: SIT will work on the Title I Priority Plan at our next meeting on

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 AM.

Respectfully submitted,

Tonya Deweese, Title I Lead Reading Specialist
