Be a Nature Detective and Draw What You Find!

Be a Nature Detective! Go outside with your parent or guardian. If you need to stay inside, look out a window. Bring a piece of paper, something to draw on and a pencil. What can you find? What do you see? Can you find a beautiful flower to draw? Do you see a pretty tree you can draw? Color you drawing with crayons or markers. Feel free to take a photo of your artwork and add it to Seesaw! (April 20-April 24) Watch Art With Mati & Dada – VanGogh

Found Object Still Life
Hello Emma Artists! I have a fun art idea for you this week. Look around your house. Find three to five objects that you can trace around. I have attached examples of a key and a hair pin. Place the objects on a piece of paper and trace or draw around the object with a pencil or pen. Use your imagination and turn your objects into something new! Could it be a new animal, a race car or tree? Send me pictures of your new drawings! You can email them to me as well. cynthia.boyle@bcsemail.org.

Colorful Scratch Art
Hey Emma Artists! This week, I have planned a fun, simple art activity. You will need markers OR crayons, paper, a black crayon and a pointed item like a stick or paperclip. With your crayons or markers, color think lines of color on your paper like the example below. Take your black crayon and use pressure as you color the entire area black. Take your pointed item and scratch the design into the black crayon area. It should reveal the colorful areas below the black crayon. Have fun with this!

(April 27-May 1)
Shadow Drawing
Hi Emma Artists! We are going to focus on shadows today for the art lesson. Find two or three objects from your home that would fit on a piece of paper. Toys work really well for this assignment. Go outside on a sunny day this week. Place your object on the ground and find its shadow. Place the paper down on the ground and draw the shadow you see on the paper. Add details to your shadow outline. Color it when you are done if you can! See the examples below.
