Discussion:

  1. Roof Color Decision:  Choose between 2 colors and Mrs. Shipman will match those with the new color on the doors.  She will pick the best match. New roof project will start within 4 weeks and will last until April. Mrs. Shipman made a motion, Mrs. Young seconded, and all said agreed.

  1. Title 1 Family Engagement Events:

-Open House-Sept. 24th 4:30-5:30

-Family Literacy Night-November 21st 5:30-6:45 (correlate w/Book Fair) Grades 2-3 will perform at the end of the sessions.

-Math Morning-March 24th 8-9am (possibly correlate with Book Fair)*Also include STEM lab activities.  Student led activities within each classroom; have several centers in each room. K-1 will perform at the start of the session.

-LIM Lunch and Learn:  May 6th 4th grade will perform

-Leadership Day-April 3rd 


Title I Family Policy and Plan: Emma Elementary’s purpose was added to the Title I family policy and plan. Dates were  updated on the plan. Our family policy and plan will be shared during our Annual Title I meeting. 


            Home School Compact: SIT agreed that our Home School Compact format will stay  the same. If SIT goals are amended, Mrs. Deweese will update the back of the  

compact. The Home-School Compact will be shared with parents during our Annual

Title I meeting. Teachers will review and have parents sign the home school compact at 

at the first parent-teacher conference.  


       3. EOY 2018-2019 SIP:  

  •  NC Star is the platform we will use for agendas,    minutes, etc. for SIT.
  •  Goals:  SIT will amend some of the goals and apply more of a focus on proficiency.            *Goal 1 we will be looking at and revise the goal to amend it for this current school year. 
  •  Mrs.Shipman will share the 21018-19 SIP EOY Summary Report with SIT members. Members will put in feedback based on PLC conversations. We will track changes by color and name of person who makes the suggested change. Due date  

            is October 10th. 

            October 2nd @ 2:45-SIT work session to vote.


        4. New LIM Coach:  Emma will have a new LIM coach, Ebony Loftn,for the 2019-2020 school  

            year. Mrs. Shipman is encouraging PTO to help with LIM in the future...planning ahead. We

            need several corporate sponsors to try and maintain the costs for the future.


       5. Other Concerns/Added notes:

           -Staff Concerns box in the main office.

           -Remember to look at LIM info on Especially Emma

           -Media Center Questions: Children should still be allowed to checkout books and 

            purchase books at the book fair.  Unanimous vote.
